I (Shannon) traveled out of the state for the first time this wedding season to photograph the wedding of Katie and Grant……and it was definitely worth the trip! Grant and Katie met at Samford University and worked together as Orientation Leaders before they ever dated.
Their wedding was surrounded by a lot of their friends from college and it was so fun to see them all enjoying being together again. The setting was down a country lane at a beautiful cottage called Cates House. It was romantic and charming, and Katie had all the personal touches that we love to photograph.
There were birdcages hanging around a custom made wooden altar, birds atop the wedding cake and vintage fabrics covering the reception tables. Katie’s sister Alexa, a florist in Seattle, did an incredible job on all of the flowers! Katie, who is a jewelry designer, made the bridesmaid jewelry and the clip behind her veil (www.abilenastudio.com).
Our favorite detail though, was the turquoise vintage truck that served as a backdrop for a lot of really fun wedding party photos, as well as the perfect spot for our photo booth. Regina and I had a great time getting to know this couple and it was so apparent that they are deeply loved by all of their family and friends!!
Congratulations Grant and Katie! Now a sneak peek at some of my faves, followed by your slideshow!
